Goals, Interventions, and Approaches

Overview:
Service Plans now include Goals, Interventions, and Approaches (GIAs). Goals clarify why care is provided, Interventions define what staff will do, and Approaches capture how care should be delivered for each resident.
User Benefits:
- Stronger Compliance Support: Document the goals and interventions many states require, directly within the Service Plan.
- Clearer Caregiver Guidance: Caregivers see Approaches alongside instructions while charting ADLs.
- Better Progress Tracking: Track progress toward resident goals and share meaningful updates with families.
- Less Typing: Goals and Interventions pre-populate for most standard ADLs and remain fully editable.
One of the most requested Service Plan enhancements, GIAs help communities move from task-based care to intentional, outcome-driven care. Service plans become more personalized, more defensible, and more meaningful for residents, families, and staff.
